Data Collection and Processing Methods: The paper employs a multiple case study approach, and the data were collected through 14 in-depth, semi-structured, face-to-face interviews with two Senior Executives from seven companies involved in UK road transport (between Jan and Nov 2015). As part of the analysis, we designed a numerical exercise to measure interviewees’ risk perception, based on the 'payment card method’. In this regard, we asked interviewees to ascribe a value to the increase in their firm’s profitability expected from incorporating advanced services into their portfolio.
